Was Robert Ivan Nichols the Zodiac killer?
In 2002, a man known as Joseph Newton Chandler III (a stolen identity) shot himself in the bathroom of his tiny apartment in Eastlake, Ohio. He left no note and $80,000 behind in a bank account. He was finally identified using DNA in 2016 as Robert Ivan Nichols of New Albany, Indiana - a Purple Heart Navy veteran who served in World War II. He had disappeared from his family in 1965, and before leaving told his wife, "In due time, you'll know why.” Given that he apparently lived in the same region and time period as the famed Zodiac Killings in California, he abruptly abandoned his family with that cryptic message, and that his likeness is close to the sketch of Zodiac, some believe Nichols may have been the elusive and notorious killer.
Did ancient humans eat fast casual food?
Yes. (Great! Tiny mystery solved!) But to get into a bit more detail here - archaeologists discovered a street food stand in the ruins of Pompeii, the city buried by a volcano in 79 AD. The stand apparently included hot food that the shop keeper lowered onto the counter in jars. Oh and they had pictures of animals on the stand that were included in the dishes, like chicken and duck. I wonder if anyone snagged a duck burrito bowl with a tortilla on the side as the volcano erupted.
How did a man survive 3 days living with venomous snakes?
Neelim Kumar Khaire set a world record in 1986 by spending 72 hours in a cage with 72 of the most venomous snakes species in India. How did he survive? He did nothing. Truly. He just chilled and let them be. The better question might be WHY? Other than the obvious (because he’s insane)…apparently he wanted to spread awareness and prove that snakes don't bite unless provoked. Anyway, he came out of the cage unharmed, without a single bite. An absolute boss.
How do you watch the same sunset twice in one day?
The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. I could tell you how many Statues of Liberty to give context but there’s a better way to give you perspective. The building is so tall that you can watch a sunset, then take the elevator to the top of the building, and watch the SAME sunset again.

Great stuff, as always, but I absolutely LOVE the tidbit on Pompeii!! I was always fascinated by the subject as a child, along with dinosaurs, sharks, and outer space. My mom used to get so frustrated because I was never in to "girl" things, lol. You have found something I did not know about on of my favorite things. Thank you!!
